Meighen Haddad LLP announces the retirement of Managing Partner

After a long and rewarding career in the legal industry, Meighen Haddad LLP announces the retirement of Managing Partner Blair Filyk from the practice of law effective December 31, 2024.

Blair received his call to the Manitoba Bar in 1988, joined the Firm in 1992 and became a Partner in 1999. Blair has been a driving force behind the progressive changes that Meighen Haddad LLP has made through the years, contributing significantly to the growth and reputation of the Firm as a leading full-service law firm in Western Manitoba.

Blair practiced primarily in the areas of corporate, commercial and agribusiness, financing and security, real estate transactions, business conflict management, and estate and succession planning.

Outside of the Firm, Blair was active in a number of professional organizations, including acting as Chairman of the Boards of the Brandon and Area Community Foundation and the Brandon Family YMCA, National Board membership with YMCA Canada and pro-bono legal counsel for various non-profit community groups.  Blair has also presented papers at the Isaac Pitblado Lectures and has served as a Learning Group Facilitator for the Bar Admission course of the Law Society of Manitoba.
