Jill Ransom, B.A., LL.B.
Jill Ransom grew up on the slopes of the Turtle Mountain,
near Boissevain, but has made the Brandon area her
home, with her husband Don Green, for the past number
of years. Previous work experience includes being
a Provincial 911 Operator/Supervisor for 5 years and
working in small towns along the American border as
a Canada Customs Officer.
Prior to university, Jill spent one year in South
Africa as a Rotary exchange student. Jill obtained
her Bachelor of Arts from Brandon University, with
a double major in Philosophy and Sociology. She graduated
from the University of Manitoba with her Bachelor
of Laws degree in the spring of 2004 and received
her call to the Bar of Manitoba in June 2005.
While
attending U of M she had the pleasure of receiving
the Max and Manly Isaacs Prize for her legal writing
skills. She also received the Edward K. Rowan-Legg
national award from the Canadian Bar Association for
her contribution to the CBA through her work on the
mentor program at her law school.
Jill is an active Board Member for the Women’s Resource Centre
and participates in many pro-bono legal clinics in the community.
