Charles
O. Meighen, Q.C.
Charles Meighen was born and raised in Brandon and
is known by most as “Chuck”. He received
a B.A. in 1964 and an LL.B. in 1967, both from the
University of Manitoba. Chuck has been with Meighen Haddad LLP since 1967 and became a Partner in
1971. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1977
and is currently the Senior Partner in the firm. Chuck
is a past President of the Brandon Chamber of Commerce,
past Chairman of the Brandon District United Way Campaign,
past Vice-Chairman of the Manitoba Law Enforcement
Review Agency and has volunteered extensively on community
fundraising projects including capital contributions
benefiting the Keystone Centre and the Brandon Regional
Health Facility. Chuck is the past Director of Craig
Media Inc.
Chuck’s
practice consists solely of solicitor’s work
and he is heavily involved in corporate commercial
work, commercial real estate, estate and business
planning and also provides legal services and advice
to municipalities and school districts. Chuck has
appeared before many administrative tribunals including
the C.R.T.C., Air Transport Committee, Manitoba Municipal
Board and Land Value Appraisal Commission.
